Update

So I know it’s been a while since I’ve left an update on my face regimen, I got a new job.

So I use Juice Beauty exfoliating cleanser, Neutrogena face toner (for now), and Juice Beauty CC Cream moisturizer, warm glow. And once a week I use Dermalogica Sebum Clearing Masque.

It’s been a month now and my face looks amazing, blemishes are pretty much gone and even my friends and family have noticed how clear my skin has gotten.

Try these products, they’re amazing!!!

My Health Journey

So my health journey has been quite challenging. I’ve had three trainers, seven months of training, and have gained two pounds in weight, muscle that is. I started out at 127 lbs and I am now 129 lbs. All I ever wanted was a flat stomach, a bottom that sits up and some definition in my arms. Over time, I realized a healthier lifestyle made me feel better as a person and allowed me to appreciate my physical being more. While I have seen a lot of change within my physical appearance, I have not reached my goal just yet. I could say my eating habits could be better, including more calories intake (healthy), less cardio, more weight training, harder workout, and visit the gym more often. But I know things take time along with what I need to start doing (listed in previous sentence).

I have dedicated the month of February to eating better and working out better. I have been pulling more exercises from Livestrong, Women’s Health, and workout routines from fitness trainers on Instagram. For the most part, I am getting the same workouts from those individuals on targeted areas. The only difference is the amount of “reps” or set requirements.

The idea of placing a before of myself on the world-wide web is scary; however, trust me when I say I have a muffin top that is annoying and something I want gone by the end of this month. So if that means, going to the gym 5 times a week and eating 6 times a day, I am all for it.

No matter what, I will place the end results of February on here. I will also place my weekly workout routine, and occasional meals and snacks for that day.

P.S. I am a writer, so nine times out of 10, my posts will not be less than 200 words lol.

TIP

I read that the facial products that cost more than the drug store products may be a better product simply because they have more money to do research and to ensure that the product works.

Chance

So it will be a week Saturday since I’ve been using both Juice Beauty and Dermalogica. And while the products make my face feel clean, my face hasn’t cleared up like I wanted to. I must remember, it takes time to see results. Sometimes eight weeks according to Allure.

So I am going to give both of these products a chance. Even though, Origins is in the back of my head, along with another skincare line I’ve come across, Nars.

Juice Beauty strips the dirt off my face, but doesn’t dry my face out to the point where I’m in dire need of moisturizer. But I place the stem cream I mentioned in the last post on my face for needed moisture.

I will say that I was expecting a rougher exfoliated clean, it’s not enough beads in it to feel like a scrub. I’d almost rather have gotten the cleansing milk.

I’ve only used the masque once. I want to do it once a week as instructed. But it does feel as though its doing a deep clean in my pores.

Patiently waiting.. For a cleaner, purer me…

I purchased two facial products today, Dermalogica: Sebum Clearing Masque ($46) and Juice Beauty: Exfoliating Cleanser ($23). Now I know I said, it would just be Juice Beauty, but after talking to a sales person at ULTA, she convinced me to try Dermalogica.

She told me that I didn’t have bad skin and that my pores were just congested because I wasn’t cleaning it good enough, hence the small bumps. But I told her about the product I was using to clean my face, Neutrogena, and she said those products don’t work.

So i’ll be cleaning my face daily with the exfoliating cleanser and using the masque once a week. The masque will take all the “gunk” out my pores, and hopefully my face will look better within two weeks.

I also received free gifts with my purchases. With the Juice Beauty purchase I received the Stem Cellular Repair Moisturizer and the Dermalogica purchase I received an ULTA beauty pack. But I wasn’t suppose to receive an ULTA beauty pack, instead it’s suppose to be a Dermalogica gift, so i’ll be taking it back tomorrow.

I’ll post the pictures of the products in the next post. And soon I will have before and after pictures of my face.

Operation-Get-Your-Face-Right

So, I am on a mission to get clearer skin. I’ve gone through just about every product on the shelves from Noxzema and Clearasil, to Neutrogena and Clean and Clear and they’re no good for my skin.

Now, my skin type is a combination. One minute it’s extremely dry and then the next, it’s oily. Plus, I now have bumps on my face that resemble a rash, but no discoloration. Clearly, Neutrogena is not working. So, I believe it’s time to spend a little bit extra on some Organic (all-natural) face products for a better result. While the cost may be more, I believe the product should be effective and a great investment.

For the next six months, I’ll be trying Juice Beauty, Origins, and Clinique over a two-month span in that order. If any of you would like to comment on these products, feel free to do so. My hopes is that it will not take six months to rid these problem areas, but we shall see.

Of course, I will continue to drink water, (4 bottles a day) and clean my face twice a day. I will update you all soon on the products I purchase from Juice Beauty.

Stay tuned!

Update

I graduated. Congratulations to me! I have a Master of Arts in Technical Communication – major accomplishment!! Job hunting. Considering one more masters, but in business administration with a concentration in finance. Grant Management, exciting right?

Anyway, I’ve decided what I want to do with MY blog and that is… to focus on purifying myself, as a whole. Purify Me.

I’m building a closer relationship with God, eating healthy, working on career goals, exercising for a healthy body, oh and trying organic products to work on my overall appearance.

This is my journey through life and I am happy to share it with you all.

End-of-the-Semester

My first semester in graduate school ended well. I’m positive I didn’t get anything less than a B. Word of advice for future graduate students: read all assignments, listen in class, asks questions, and participate in class discussions. Hard Work definitely pays off. I’ve learned so much in just two classes and I’m positive the next eight classes will be just as informative and useful in the future.

Midterms

I will receive my first midterm in graduate school this evening and I don’t know how to feel. If you ask me a week from today after I turn it in, I’d probably have so many mixed emotions about my essays.

Random: When I think of midterms, I think of AHHH, REAL MONSTERS
